Mission
Jeunesse Idem is a community organization that aims to improve the quality of life of gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans and questioning young people aged 7 to 35, as well as to raise awareness among the population of the Outaouais region about the realities of the diversity of sexual orientations and gender identities.

Job description
Under the responsibility of the coordination of the organization, the worker participates in planning, orientation, organization activities, co-facilitates various groups and workshops offered by the organization, carries out projects, participates in meetings of team in addition to welcoming and responding to the needs of people who come in person, by telephone or via the various electronic media.

Responsibilities and Tasks

Welcoming, accompanying and individually supporting participants aged 7 to 35 who identify with the 2LGBTQIA+ community or who are questioning them, as well as parents/relatives.

Plan and lead support groups, community activities, promotional and information activities as well as training workshops.

Coordinate the realization of projects

Facilitate, support and encourage the participation of participants in activities by promoting the autonomy of the person and the reappropriation of the power to act.

Liaise between the person in need and the various resources in the region.

Write activity reports, complete statistics and other documents.

Actively participate in team meetings and promote the emergence of new ideas.

Demonstrate professionalism and respect the code of work ethics, partners and team members.

Meet the needs of related tasks.

Job Requirements
-
Hold a college or university degree in a counseling field or have completed at least the first two years.
-
Have at least two years of experience in individual and group intervention.

Have a good knowledge of the realities experienced by people in the 2LGBTQIA+ community.

Fluency in spoken and written French (good knowledge of spoken and written English an asset)

Have good communication and good teamwork skills.

Demonstrate initiative and autonomy

Have an open mind

Experience with elementary age children an asset

Working conditions
Entry into office: Monday, October 3, 2022
Hourly rate: $18.50/hour and more depending on experience (35 hours/week)
Duration of the contract: until March 31, 2023, with the possibility of contract renewal
